A series of CoMoP/γ-Al2O3 HDS catalysts were prepared with different complexing agents and studied by XRD, XPS, Py-FTIR, HRTEM, and H2-TPR. The adding of thiourea leads to weak interaction between metal and the supports, and shows small MoS2 slab with high stacking layers in its microstructure, leading to the increasing ratio of active CoMoS phase at the edge, finally results in high direct desulfurization selectivity; meanwhile, the highest Bronsted acid amount obtained from pyridine-FTIR results also facilitate the high DDS selectivity. These provide a sample method to modulate the direct desulfurization selectivity of HDS catalyst and correlate their microstructure and catalytic performance." @default.
