- W3006646935 abstract "Abstract In dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), the recombination at the electrode/nanoparticles interface is a problem that reduces its photovoltaic performance. The best method to address this issue is to employ a dense blocking layer that provides electrical and chemical isolation between electrodes and nanoparticles. In this paper, we show that applying a bilayer of TiO2 and ZnO prepared by RF sputtering as the block layer has the capability to increase the efficiency of DSSCs from 4.9 % and 5.7 % for cells without block layer and with a single block layer to 7.1 % for the DSSC fabricated using the TiO2/ZnO block layer. We use XRD, FESEM, IPCE, OCVD, and EIS analysis to show how a bilayer of the block layer can perform better in DSSCs than a single block layer." @default.
