- W3007459711 abstract "Drinking tea become a culture for the world’s population, including students. This habit forms an attitude that happens over and over again. Tea is known to contain caffeine and includes a purine source. Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism. One of the factor that increase uric acid levels is excessive purine intake. Reference value of normal uric acid level of man 2.1-7 mg/dl while in women 2.0-6 mg/dl. This research aims to determine the levels of uric acid in tea drinkers among the students This research is a correlative research with cross sectional approach. The population of this research are the students of Setia Budi University students who have tea drinking habits. The number of samples were 36 respondents with age of 20-24 years with purposive sampling technique. Tea drinking habits are divided into 3 frequencies, frequency is rare, enough, and often. Statistical test using Pearson correlation test. The results of this research using Pearson correlation test, found the probability value 0.042 (p <0.05) and a correlation coefficient 0.341, so it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the consumption of tea drink with uric acid level of the students at Setia Budi University Surakarta with direction of positive relationship with weak relationship.
