- W3008386301 abstract "Nonchemical amenities have been tested as alternatives to chemical factors to both stimulate and suppress microbial growth in research, therapeutics, industry, and occasionally in environment as well. Ultrasounds, heat, and light show limited selectivity and targetability, which undermines the exhibited effectiveness of such methods. Electromagnetism, on the other hand, is more promising. The magnetic fields are applicable for both purposes, and the wildly differing results observed imply possible targetability for at least some of the diverse amenities. As intensities and frequency (where applicable) change, so do the magnetoreceptors of the cells, which may not coexist in any cell growth phase or taxon and kind and thus produce very different dose–response curves and sharp optima. Electrical amenities, both inductive—fields—and conductive—currents—are more manageable and can be applied in massive or individualized applications, with respective preferentiality. Both allow fine-tuning for specialized applications and results as the effects tend to depend on specific organism and ontogenesis as much as on external factors, environmental ones included." @default.
