Content analysis was conducted in Canada’s two bilingual peer-reviewed journals (Loisir et Société / Society and Leisure and Leisure/Loisir) to: (1) identify articles produced by authors affiliated with a Canadian university; (2) record research methods used; (3) discern thematic patterns; and (4) put forth directions for future research. Findings identified 24 studies by 45 authors. The 2010s was the most active for publishing, while qualitative was the referred method in both decades. Themes revealed: (1) differences in leisure preferences and patterns in leisure participation; (2) leisure constraints and facilitators among ethnic youth, adolescents, and young adults; and (3) integration through sport and recreation. Further leisure research is needed on ethnicity to better understand the thematic categories already explored, while expanding to other areas of needed research as well." @default.
