- W3011750223 abstract "Abstract The contributions made by multiwall carbon nanotubes and the fiber bridging to the improved interlaminar fracture toughness (ILFT) of the carbon fiber-reinforced plastic laminates were verified by morphological analysis. Interlaminar fracture (ILF) morphology was needed to distinguish the fiber bridging and carbon nanotubes strengthening effect. For the morphological study, the test samples were examined during ongoing testing (in situ) to understand fiber bridging and the other causes that improved the ILFT. After testing, laminates were split open, and the ILF surfaces were examined by microscope and field emission scanning electron microscope/scanning electron microscope (FESEM/SEM) to look at the various interlaminar mechanisms that improved the ILFT. The step-by-step process of ILF morphology for multiscale interlaminar interface is demonstrated in detail. All the findings are discussed with the help of the test data, FESEM images, and the images of the ILF surfaces." @default.
