An analytical characteristic equation is derived, and the damping rate and angular frequency that describe the droplet oscillation are numerically solved. The effect of the properties of the host liquid, including its density, viscosity and elasticity, on the viscoelastic droplet oscillation is examined for the quadrupole mode. The host liquid is found to make the droplet oscillation more complex and the mechanisms behind that are discussed." @default.
