- W3013331237 abstract "Working well with others is important to the success of camp counselors, volunteers, professionals, rocket scientists ….and the list goes on. Everyone! Businesses, organizations, and school systems are coming to realize that developing skills to work well with others is important to everything they do. In the work environment, it is important to work well as a team, whether it is colleagues, adults, teens, or youth. These skills are often referred to as social and emotional intelligence. Lessons were designed to assist all participants in developing their own emotional intelligence, and will enhance the professional's work with others. This session will give an overview of the curriculum developed with lesson plans to use with 4-H club members, teen audiences, camp counselors, volunteers, and even co-workers. Items included in this particular curriculum are: overview of the curriculum, background information related to emotional intelligence, lessons and associated handouts (six total lessons), participant evaluation, and facilitator evaluation. This curriculum has taken the key areas of emotional intelligence and has provided social and emotional learning opportunities that our the program supports in young people to improve these skills. Session participants will have an opportunity to learn about emotional intelligence, experience some of the lessons, and walk away with the lessons to take back and utilize in their own community." @default.
