• W3013529170 abstract "Pessimism is considered to be one of the fundamental and — at the same time — labile cognitive orientations. As a mental model of world perception and worldview pessimism got a reflection in many genres of narratives, in folklore and fiction texts. Real persons (authors of texts) and fictional characters (narrators, lyrical heroes) can be pessimists. Hakka folk ballad Journey to Taiwan  (the Qing Dynasty), Byron's Manfred (1816–1817), and Turgenev's Steno (1834) as an imitation of  Manfred are known for their poetic pessimism. Though the texts belong to different national aesthetic and language traditions, they represent pessimistic narratives with many similar poetic features and devices. The paper focuses on the general poetic criteria of pessimism and figures of these narratives. Particular attention is paid to the figurative universals used in creating images of loci as infernal or dystopic. The existence of universal poetic devices for pessimization greatly facilitates the reception of every text outside its “native” literary tradition and contributes, firstly, to the transformation of the text into a transcultural phenomenon and, secondly, to the creation of new original pessimistic works in other languages on its model. However, after an enthusiastic reception and — possibly — the acculturation of a social phenomenon, corresponding to the main pessimistic idea of the text, its subsequent deculturation is very possible. It is reflected in the rethinking of the values of the phenomenon of pessimization and lexical units, denoting it, as well as in the widespread replacement of their evaluations with the opposite. At the same time, since the suppression of critical and pessimistic tonalities in culture is fraught with sad consequences, pessimistic ideas are infinitely generated in the public consciousness, but in updated “masks” that are attractive, as a rule, for the younger generations experiencing personal crisis and confronting older traditions. Пессимизм считается одной из фундаментальных и — в то же время — лабильных когнитивных установок. Как ментальная модель мировосприятия (и мировоззрения) пессимизм отражен во многих нарративных жанрах. Реальные лица (авторы) и вымышленные персонажи (рассказчики, лирические или драматические герои) могут быть носителями типических черт пессимистов. Народная баллада хакка Путешествие на Тайвань, созданная в период династии Цин, поэмы Байрона Манфред (1816-1817) и Тургенева Стено (1834) году) известны своим поэтическим пессимизмом. Несмотря на то, что эти тексты принадлежат к различным культурно-языковым традициям, они содержат поэтические универсалии, которые были отобраны авторами  для создания близких фольклорных / художественных образов, в том числе инфернальных и дистопических образов локуса. Наличие универсальных поэтических приемов «пессимизации» значительно облегчает восприятие текста вне его родной литературной традиции и способствует превращению этого текста в транскультурный феномен. Однако после восторженного восприятия и аккультурации социального явления, соответствующего основной пессимистической идее текста, возможна и его последующая декультурация." @default.
