Daun sukun mengandung senyawa yang bersifat antibakteri seperti flavonoid, tanin, saponin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat ekstrak daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental. Sampel dibuat ekstrak dengan menggunakan metode maserasi dan dievaporator sehingga diperoleh ekstrak kental. Ekstrak kental dibuat variasi konsentrasi 10%, 15%, 20% kemudian diuji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis dengan menggunakan metode cylinder cup. Pengujian dilakukan dengan 5 kali perlakuan dan 3 kali pengulangan. Aktivitas Antibakteri dari ekstrak daun sukun diamati setelah di inkubasi selama 1x24 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak daun sukun menghasilkan zona hambat pada konsentrasi masing-masing 10%, 15% dan 20%, dengan nilai berturut-turut yakni 4,39 mm, 5,37 mm, dan 6,59 mm. Data yang diperoleh lalu dianalisa dengan menggunakan uji ANOVA (Analisis one-way varian) dan uji lanjutan BNT (Beda Nyata Terkecil). Hasil analisis uji ANOVA menunjukan bahwa ekstrak etanol pada konsentrasi 20% dengan rata-rata diameter daya hambat sebesar 6,59 mm berbeda secara signifikan dengan konsentrasi 10% dan 15% dengan nilai rata-rata 4,39 mm dan 5,37 mm.Kata Kunci : Daun Sukun, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Daya Hambat ABSTRACTBreadfruit leaf (artocarpus altilis) is one of plant as antibacterial herbs because it’s containing antibacterial compound such as flavonoids, tannins, and saponins. This study aimed to able to know the resistor power of breadfruit leaf (artocarpus altilis) toward the bacteria growth of staphylococcus epidermidis. This study was using the experimental method. The sample of study was breadfruit leaf, then it extracted by using maceration and evaporated method so that obtain some thick extract. Its thick extract made in to variance of concentration 10%, 15%, 20% then tested in antibacterial activity toward bacteria growth of staphylococcus epidermidis by using cylinder cup method. Testing conducted with five times replication and three times of repetition. Antibacterial activity of breadfruit leaf extract observed after incubation for 1 x 24 hours. The result of study showing that breadfruit leaf extract can resulting in resist zone at concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20%, With respective values of 4,39 mm, 5,37 mm, and 6,59 mm while chloramphenicol (positive control) resulted in an resistant zone of 31,63 mm and DMSO (negative control) did not produce resistant zone. Data obtained though the analysis by using ANOVA test (one-way variance analysis) and the continuous test by BNT (the smallest real difference). The result of ANOVA test analysis showing that ethanol extract in 20% with a mean of resistor power diameter as 6,59 mm differed significantly with a positive control of chloramphenicol at 31,63.Keywords: breadfruit leaf, Staphylococcus epidermidis, resistor power." @default.
