- W3020166849 abstract "Abstract In the present study, effect of alkaline heat treatment of magnesium alloy on characterization, hardness, corrosion and bioactivity have been done. Alkaline treatment has been done in three different solutions Na2CO3, NaHCO3 and Na2HPO4 for 25Hr. Followed by heat treatment was done at 450 °C for 14 hr. A detailed microstructure characterization has been done using scanning electron microscopy and XRD technique. Corrosion analysis has been done in hank’s solution by weight loss method. Bioactivity test in terms of calcium phosphate deposition has been done hank’s solution. Alkaline treatment leads to formation of rough and porous surface with presence of oxide phases. A marginal improvement in hardness and corrosion resistance has been observed in alkaline treated Mg alloy as compared to as received Mg alloy." @default.
