- W3022140559 abstract "Graphene has received tremendous interest by the researchers in recent years due to its unique structure and exceptional physicochemical properties. The derivatives of graphene, such as graphene oxide (GO), reduced GO, graphene quantum dots, and functionalized graphene owing to their facile synthesis and high yield, are promising materials for various applications in the areas of engineering and research. Pervaporation is a promising technique compared to other conventional separation techniques in terms of its economical, energy saving, and ecofriendly advantages. Free standing and polymer-supported graphene membranes offer large development in the area of desalination, solvent separation, and dehydration, on the ground that the filler improves mechanical strength and the flux in pervaporation. This chapter systematically summarizes the current progress and gives an insight to the pervaporation-based mass transfer properties of the graphene-based polymer composite membranes and their applications in areas related to separation technology." @default.
