- W3022652217 abstract "In this chapter we will briefly review the history of the nuclear development of the three countries in order to identify the time period in which each of the case studies crossed the nuclear weaponization threshold. This identification is necessary in order to determine chronologically which conventional wars, fought by the three countries, occurred either in the pre- or post-weaponization periods. A common characteristic of the examined countries is that they have launched the development of their nuclear capability upon the occurrence of various tragic and dramatic events in their history. While in the Israeli and Pakistani cases it was the traumatic events of Holocaust and the Indian conventional superiority, respectively, which caused decision-makers in these countries to initiate a nuclear program and subsequently to cross the weaponization threshold. In the Indian case study it was the defeat in a war with communist China, which forced decision-makers in New Delhi to reexamine their antinuclear rhetoric." @default.
