- W3022983812 abstract "Utilization of hydrogen as a fuel in a compression ignition engine (CI Engine) under dual fuel mode could reduce all carbon-based emissions; however, the high localized temperatures inside the cylinder are formed at the time of combustion and they are responsible for high content of NOx release. The present study is concentrated at analyzing the effect of localized temperature and pressure inside the cylinder using theoretical and CFD simulations. The simulated results and the experimental results are in line with the error limits of 13–18%. It is analyzed from the study that precooling and preheating the cylinder contents leads to reduction and improvement in temperature and pressure inside the cylinder, respectively. The distribution of in-cylinder temperature for different cases is compared and studied." @default.
