- W3025501979 abstract "본 연구는 ｢노처녀가｣ 이본의 하나인 ｢노쳐자젼이라｣를 대상으로, 노처녀 형상에 나타난 늙은 여자의 성에 대해 분석함으로써 ｢노처녀가｣ 이본군 안에서 이 작품이 지니는 의미를 드러내고자 한 것이다. ｢노쳐자젼이라｣는 소설형 제목과 달리, 40이 되도록 결혼하지 못하고 늙어가는 양반가 노처녀의 한탄이 주를 이룬다는 점에서 전반적으로는 가사 ｢노처녀가1｣과 친연성을 보인다. 그러나 소설형 구성을 취하고 있으며, 혼인에 대한 적극적인 욕망을 보여주고 노총각과 혼인하는 결말을 보이는 점에서는 단편소설집 삼설기에 수록된 ｢노처녀가2｣와도 영향 관계에 있다고 할 수 있다. 이와 같은 노처녀 형상 속에서 포착되는 ‘늙은 여자’의 성은 첫째, ‘육체와 욕망의 구분’이다. 노화되는 육체와 성적 욕망을 구분하고 늙은 여자의 성적 욕망 또한 인간 본연의 자연스러운 것으로 그려내고 있다. 둘째는 ‘불모성의 경계 지우기’이다. 40에 가까운 여성의 육체적인 늙음을 현실적이고 사실적으로 그려내고 있음에도 불구하고 그런 여성의 혼인 이후 출산이 너무나 자연스러운 것으로 드러나고 있다. 셋째, ‘대상화되지 않는 처녀의 성’이다. 고소설에서 처녀의 성은 대부분 남성 욕망의 대상으로 그려지며 대체로 폭력이 수반되는 데 비해, ｢노쳐자젼이라｣에서 처녀의 성은 대상화되지 않으며, 이때 상정되는 남녀관계 역시 남녀 음양의 조화로운 결합을 전제한 상호적인 것이고, 육체의 교합만이 아닌 정서적 교감까지 이루어지는 것이다. ｢노쳐자젼이라｣는 소설과 가사가 함께 필사되어 향유되던 19세기 중엽에서 20세기 초 규방 문화를 배경으로 한다. 그런 점에서 ｢노쳐자젼이라｣에서 나타났던 성의 양상은 이 작품을 읽던 규방 여성들의 성과 긴밀하다고 할 수 있다. 곧 ｢노쳐자젼이라｣는 소설과 가사를 함께 돌려 읽던 규방 여성들의 성 욕망을 노처녀라는 대리 인물을 통해 투사한 것이며, 그 자체로 규방 여성의 성 담론을 형성한다고 할 수 있다." @default.
