• W3025507116 abstract "The novel TiO2 films with high corrosion resistance were engineered successfully on Ti substrate using anodization and annealing technique at 400 °C (B), 500 °C (C) and 600 °C (D). The passive layers of sample B and C exhibit anatase structure, while D yielded a mixture of anatase/rutile structure. These passive layers (B, C and D) showed massive formation of hydroxylation that covered the bulk TiO2 structure as shown by XPS spectra, that titania hydroxide layer is very stable and successfully confirmed by various electrochemical studies. The electrochemical response of the passive films (B, C, and D) were compared with the anodized film (A) in 4 M HCl as well as 4 M H2SO4 at 100 ± 5 °C by variety of electrochemical techniques encompassing potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and Mott-Schottky analysis. The results indicate that the sample D showed high corrosion resistance than A, B, and C, as well as the passive current densities of sample D is 4 orders of magnitude lower than sample A in both solutions at 100 ± 5 °C. Such a remarkable increment in high stability of TiO2 films by anodization and then annealing, demonstrating a very economic and protective method for various applications." @default.
