- W3026652749 abstract "Abstract Molar refraction (Rm), molar polarizability (αm), and other optical features were calculated for XZnO-[(100-(X + Y)]TeO2-YLi2O: 0≤ X ≤ 20 and Y = 20 mol%. Molar refraction (Rm), molar polarizability (αm), metallization principle (M), dielectric coefficients (static and optical), reflection loss (RL), optical transmission (T), refractive index based-metallization M(n), and optical energy gap based-metallization M(Egap) were calculated. By utilizing Geant4 toolkit, mass attenuation coefficients (μ/ρ) of the glasses were simulated in the energy interval of 0.015–15 MeV and the obtained data were in a good agreement with the theoretical values of XCOM. The radiation shielding properties such as Linear Attenuation Coefficient, Half Value Layer, Mean Free Path, and effective atomic number, (LAC, HVL, MFP, Zeff) were computed for the glasses involved. Moreover, Exposure Buildup Factor (EBF) was evaluated by using Phy-X program. Neutron shielding capacity of the studied glasses was estimated by determining fast neutron removal cross section (FNRCS). The obtained results showed that the suggested glasses can be used for optical and radiation applications." @default.
