- W3028780654 abstract "Objective To determine the predominant learning style preferences of medical secondary vocational students and analyze the influencing factors of their learning style,as well as to compare the differences on styles among the students with different specialties.Methods A survey design was adopted and a demographic questionnaire and the learning styles questionnaire 80 items ( LSQ-80,Honey and Mumford,2006,revised edition) were administered to a purposive sample of 480 students come from a secondary vocational school in Chengdu city.Results The 413 effective questionnaires revealed that 220 students (53.3%) preferred the reflector which represented the highest number of the students among four single-learning-style categories,followed by the theorist (52,12.6% ) and the activist (49,11.9%),then the pragmatist (28,6.8% ) and the other 64 students ( 15.5% ) presented a mixed learning styles.Learn style of only children were different from that of non-only children ( x2 =15.007,P <0.05 ),students from rural village were different from those from urban ( x2 =9.830,P < 0.05 ),and nursing students were different from non-nursing students ( x2 =10.098,P < 0.05 ).Conclusions The reflector was the main learning style of the medical secondary vocational students and different special field of studies of the students preferred different learning style preference which was deeply affected by the family background and the growing experience of the students.Key words: Medical; Questionnaire; Learning style; Secondary vocational student" @default.
