- W3029085129 abstract "Objective To investigate the biomechanical mechanism of the treatment about lumbar vertebral compression fractures with pedicle screws in injured level, short segment 4-screws and long segment 6-screws by finite element analysis. Methods The ultrathin CT scan data obtained from one male patient with the compression fractures of L2 were put into the Materialise Mimics to reconstruct a compression fracture model of L2.The fracture model was treated respectively with A group pedicle screws in injured level,B group short segment 4-screws and C group long segment 6-screws.Flexion,extension,bending loadings were performed. Results The largest stress was measured in the screw root for three groups. The stress of the superior screw was larger than that of the subordinate screw (P < 0.05).The stress in the A group was larger than that in B and C group (P < 0.05).The deflection of the superior endplate in L2 under flexion loadings are (0.000 1 mm)A group 87.00 ± 3.06,B group 41.00 ± 5.33,C group 13.80 ±8.20,the results of B [(0.89 ±0.08) mPa] and C [(0.80 ±0.11) mPa] group are lesser than it in A [(1.12 ±0.13) mPa] group (P <0.05),and C group is C lesser than it in B group (P <0.05).Conclusion It is indicated that it can be optimized to reduce the failure of internal fixation with pedicle screws in injured level and long segment fixation, pedicle screws in injured level and long segment fixation can decrease the deflection of injure vertebra so they are benefit for frcture rescover.Key words: Lumbar; Fracture; Biomechanical mechanism; Finite element analysis" @default.
