- W3029367056 abstract "ObjectiveTo investigate the value of umbilical arterial blood gas analysis and Apgar scoring in the diagnosis of multiple organ damage caused by neonatal asphyxia.MethodsFrom January 2016 to June 2017 ,104 cases of neonatal asphyxia treated our hospital were choosen as research objects and divided into a mild asphyxia group and a severe asphyxia group according to the Apgar scores and into a no metabolic acidosis group, a mild metabolic acidosis group, and severe metabolic acidosis group according to the umbilical arterial blood gas analysis. The status of multiple organ damage was evaluated according to the diagnostic results.ResultsAccording to the Apgar score, 49 cases were(47.11%) mild asphyxia and 55 cases (52.89%) severe asphyxia in the 104 cases. 25 cases had multiple organ damage and the incidence was 24.04%. The incidence of multiple organ damage was lower in the mild asphyxia group than in the severe asphyxia group (P 0.05). According to the Apgar score for the diagnosis of neonatal asphyxia, umbilical cord blood gas analysis found that the sensitivity, specificity and positive predictive value to multiple organ damage when pH≤7 or BE≤-16 mmol/L were 72.00%, 86.75%, and 62.07% and those when pH≤7.2 or BE≤-8 mmol/L were 96.00%, 64.56%, and 46.15%.ConclusionsCompared with Apgar score, umbilical artery blood gas analysis combined with Apgar score is more accurate in evaluation of multiple organ damage caused by neonatal asphyxia and has greater application value.Key words: Umbilical artery; Blood gas analysis; Apgar score; Neonatal asphyxia; Multiple organ damage" @default.
