- W3029681738 abstract "Objective To investigate the effects of information services on lymphedema after breast cancer surgical treatment.Methods 120 breast cancer patients were divided into two groups by the convenience sampling method. The experimental group was provided lymphedema risk reduction practices. The factors considered included the incidence of lymphedema, symptoms, the cognition and behavior in lymphedema prevention, and quality of life.Results There was no significant difference in the incidence of lymphedema(χ2=2.004,P>0.05). The sense of pain in the experimental group was significantly less than the control group (χ2=8.352,P＜0.05), both groups experienced the subjective sensation of swelling. The knowledge of lymphedema and the preventive measures in the experimental group were significantly better than that in the control group(χ2=230.559, P＜0.05). And the implementation of preventive behaviors were significantly better than the control group, of which four scores significantly(P＜0.05). The score (t=3.083, P＜0.05) and satisfaction(t=3.450, P＜0.05) of self-assessment on quality of life in the experimental group were significantly higher than the control group.Conclusions The information services on lymphedema after breast cancer surgical treatment provided by nurses should help patients to reduce symptoms, and implement the preventive behaviors.
