- W3029843738 abstract "Objective To investigate the significance of the expression of special AT rich sequence binding protein ( SATB1 ) and human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) gene and their correlation in human prostatic carcinoma. Methods The expression of SATB1 and hTERT was detected by immunohistochemistry in 60 cases of prostatic carcinoma tissues and 30 cases of benign prostate hyperplasia tissues respectively. The correlation between SATB1 and hTERT gene in prostatic carcinoma and benign prostate hyperplasia was analyzed. Results The positive rate of SATB1 protein in human prostatic carcinoma was 86. 7%, significantly higher than that in the benign prostate hyperplasia (no SATB1 was detected,P ＜0. 01 ). There was significant difference in the expression of SATB1 between metastatic prostate carcinoma and non-metastatic carcinoma ( P ＜ 0. 01 ). The positive rate of hTERT protein in human prostatic carcinoma was 88. 3%, obviously higher than that in the benign prostate hyperplasia (20. 0%, P ＜0. 01 ).There was no significant difference in the expression of hTERT between metastatic prostate carcinoma and non-metastatic carcinoma (P ＞0. 05). There was no correlation between SATB1 and hTERT gene expression in prostatic carcinoma and benign prostate hyperplasia tissues (P ＞ 0. 05). Conclusion Positive expression of SATB1 and hTERT gene may play an important role in the development of human prostatic carcinoma. SATB1 and hTERT gene may serve as an importment molecular biological indicator in diagnosing and predicating the biological behaviors of human prostatic carcinoma.Key words: Prostatic carcinoma; SATB1 gene; hTERT gene" @default.
