- W3029913375 abstract "ObjectiveTo explore the clinical and radiological characteristics and laboratory diagnosis of pulmonary Nocardiosis for improving the recognition and diagnosis of pulmonary Nocardiosis.MethodsThe clinical feature, radiological characteristics, laboratory diagnosis and treatment were reported in one case of pulmonary Nocardiosis with review of related literature.ResultsA 43-year-old woman with a competent immune function was referred to us for evaluation of cough, fever and abnormal chest shadow in lower lobe of left lung. The laboratory examination showed I type respiratory failure and increased leucocyte count. The patient′s conditions progressed rapidly, and the invasive mechanical ventilation was used to maintain oxygenation. The cefotaxime/sulbactam with moxifloxacin was ineffective.According to the result of bacteria culture, the sulfamethoxazole combined with imipenem-cilastin, linezolid and amikacin were given. Then, the patient′s conditions improved gradually.ConclusionsSevere pulmonary Nocardiosis is not common in the immunocompetent patient.Pulmonary Nocardiosis is without specific clinical and radiological feature and is difficult to diagnose. The definite diagnosis can be provided by bacteriology examination.Medications such as sulfamethoxazole may be required.Key words: Pneumonia; Nocardia; Pulmonary nocardiosis" @default.
