• W3029956022 abstract "Objective To study the distribution of obesity in a Guangzhou population over 40 years old through the united appplication of multiple indexes.Methods A total of 8 706 subjects for gender,age,height,weight,waist circumference,hip circumference were included,from which body mass index (BMI),waist-to-hip ratio,and waist-to-height ratio,and body fat percentage were calculated.Results The incidence of obesity increased fast in Guangzhou population over 40 years old.The body fat content and central obesity incidence both increased as age advanced.And the increasing content and abnormal distribution in body fat even occurred with normal BMI ones.The body fat content and abnormal adipose distribution obviously increased in post-menopause women.Conclusions The increasing body fat content and abnormal distribution in body fat occur in Guangzhou population over 40 years when BMI is low or even normal.The united application of multiple indexes can help us to be more accurate in obesity evaluation.Key words: Obesity ;  Body fat content ;  Central obesity" @default.
