- W3030115017 abstract "Objective To explore depression and quality of llfe of hypertension patients, and the rela-tionship between the quality of life and depression. Methods 88 hypertension patients from the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical College were enrolled in this study. They were measured by self-rating depression scale (SDS), medical outcomes study health status short form (MOS SF-36) and Pillsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQ I) . Results 21 patients have symptom of depression. The prevalence of depression is 23. 9 %. The scores on eight dimensionality of quantity of life of patients in non-depression group were better than the scores of pa-tients in depression group, and there were significant differences between them (P ＜0. 01) . Conclusion There was statistically significant correlation between the quality of life and depression of hypertension patients. Therefore, enhance cognizance and teaching for hypertension patients and family numbers with the health of depressive symptom, to improve the quantity of life of hypertension patients.Key words: Hypertension; Quality of life; Depression" @default.
