- W3030349042 abstract "ObjectiveTo investigate the expressions and significance of Shh and Foxm1 in cervical cancer.Methods152 cervical tissue specimens were collected, including 40 normal cervical tissue, 30 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN Ⅰ-Ⅱ), 35 cases of CINⅢ, and 47 cases of cervical cancer. The expressions of Shh and Foxm1 in the specimens were detected by immunohistochemical method. The relationships between the positive expression rate and clinical characteristics as well as the expressions of Shh and Foxm1 in the cervical cancer tissue were analyzed.ResultsThe positive expression rates of Shh and Foxm1 in the CIN Ⅲ tissue were 57.1% and 54.3%, and those in the cervical cancer tissue were 59.6% and 61.7%, with no staitiscal differences (both P>0.05); but they were significantly higher than those in the normal cervical tissue (15.0% and 12.5%) and those in the CIN Ⅰ-Ⅱ tissue (30.0% and 26.7%) (all P<0.05). The positive expression rates of SHH and Foxm1 were 77.3% and 86.4% in the moderately and poorly differentiated tissue, 86.7% and 93.3% in the lymphatic metastasis, and 73.7% and 84.2% in the Ⅲ-Ⅳ, which were significantly higher than those in high differentiation (44.0% and 40.0%), those in no lymph node metastasis (46.9% and 43.8%), and those in the Ⅰ-Ⅱ (50.0% and 46.4%) (all P<0.05). Spearman grade correlation analysis showed that Shh expression positively correlated with Foxm1 expression in cervical cancer (r=0.542, P<0.05).ConclusionsShh and Foxm1 are highly expressed in cervical cancer tissue. They are positively correlated. They may participate in the occurrence and progression of cervical cancer through Shh signaling pathway, which provides a possible theoretical basis for molecular targeted drug therapy of cervical cancer, and may also provide an important biological basis for early screening, diagnosis, and treatment of cervical cancer.Key words: Shh signaling pathway; Foxml; Forkhead box transcription factor; Cervical cancer" @default.
