- W3030652603 abstract "Objective To evaluate the effects of mannitol for traumatic hypotony. Methods 46 eyes of 46 cases with traumatic hypotony were divided into groups randomly, the controlled group were treated by traditional drug ie cycloplegic and corticosteroid, the treatment group were treated by mannitol intravenously in addition to traditional drug. The follow-up was 6 months to 30 months （mean 14 months）. Results 17 of 23 eyes in the treatment group recovered to normal ocular pressure（ 〉 10 mmHg） accounted for 76.09%, and 3 of 23 eyes in the controlled group recovered accounted for 13.04 %, showing a significant difference between two groups （ P 〈 0.001 ）. Conclusion Mannitol is an effective method of treating traumatic hypotony.Key words: traumatic hypotony; mannitol ; treatment" @default.
