What are the psychological effects of being unemployed and how it is affected on self-esteem and life satisfaction is relevant issue. The main purpose of the study was to study the gender difference in self esteem and life satisfaction as well as to study the difference between employed and unemployed peoples in relation to life satisfaction. 100 samples out of them 50 were employed (25 men’s and 25 women’s) and 50 were unemployed (25 men’s and 25 women’s) was selected by purposive sampling method. Self esteem scale developed by Rosenberg and satisfaction with life scale developed by Diener and et. all was used for data collection. Data was analyses by using mean, S.D. and ANOVA. Study revealed that employed peoples have high self esteem and life satisfaction as compare to unemployed people. There is significant gender difference in self esteem. Men’s have high self-esteem as compared to women’s. There is significant gender difference in life satisfaction. Men’s have high life satisfaction as compare to women’s" @default.
