- W3031635346 abstract ":Objective To compareiliac wing (IW) and supra-acetabular (SA) external fixations for treatment of Tile Blpelvic fracture through a finite element biomechanical analysis. Methods Athree-dimensional finite element model of the pelvis including the ligament structure wasconstructed. Conditions of Tile B1 pelvic fracture were simulated in the model. In theAbaqus finite element software, simulated loads were applied to compare biomechanicalparameters of SA, IW, and pubic symphysis (PS) fixations. Results Displacement analysisindicated that strong PS fixation benefited control of the horizontal displacement. Misesstress contour showed that the IW bracket directly transmitted the stress from theunaffected side to the affected side to restore the stability of the sacroiliac joint. TheSA bracket not only directly transmitted the stress from the unaffected side to thesuperior part of the affected side, but also increased the stress transmission throughoutthe sacroiliac joint. On the thick SA bone, strong nails could be used for betterfixation. Conclusions SA external fixation can effectively restore the anterior stabilityof the pelvis, and benefits reconstruction of the posterior stability of the sacroiliacjoint. Since overall biomechanical properties of SA external fixation are superior tothose of the traditional IW bracket, SA fixation is better than IW one for Tile Bl pelvicfractures." @default.
