- W3031832746 abstract "Objective To discuss the effect of solution focused approach on patients with type 2 diabetes who use insulin pen for self-injection.Methods Totals of 124 patients with type 2 diabetes in the outpatient clinic of Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from April to June 2011 were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group after regular guidance.The control group received conventional education,while the experimental group was intervened with solution focused approach.MannWhitney U test and x2 test were used to compare the differences before and after intervention.Results After intervention,patients' mastery of knowledge and skills of insulin injection was 29 in the experimental group and 22 in the control group,with statistically significant difference (Z =-9.835,P ＜ 0.05).And the mastery in both the experimental and control group was better after intervention than before,and the differences were statistically significant (Z =-6.865,-6.014,respectively ;P ＜ 0.05).After intervention,the incidence rate of adverse reactions such as injection pain,liquid leakage,local swelling,subcutaneous induration,pruritus and local congestion was obviously lower in the experimental group than in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant (x2 =17.285,14.946,6.624,9.688,8.623,12.738,respectively; P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Solution focused approach can improve the mastery of knowledge and skills of insulin injection of patients with type 2 diabetes and reduce their incidence of adverse reactions of local injection.Key words: Diabetes mellitus,type 2; Solution focused approach; Insulin pen; Self injection" @default.
