- W3032804095 abstract "ObjectiveTo analyze the hepatitis C virus infection status and the influencing factors among drug users (DUS) at the HIV sentinel surveillance sites in Tianjin from 2011 to 2015, so as to provide reference for prevention of HCV among them.MethodsSentinel surveillance programs were conducted between April and June annually from 2011 to 2015. During this period of time a cross-sectional survey with a face to face interview was conducted among DUS who entered the drug rehabilitation center and the blood samples were collected to test HCV. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the infection of HCV and drug abuse behavior.ResultsFour hundred DUS were surveyed annually, and a total of 2000 DUS were included in the study within the 5 years. The positive rate of HCV infections was 52.0% (1 039/2 000) among the drug users, and the HCV infection rate declined from 64.3% in 2011 to 35.0% in 2015 (trend x2=136.876, P=0.000). Binary logistic regression analysis showed that the factors associated with HCV infections among DUS included age (OR=1.700, 95%CI: 1.463-1.975), type of drugs (OR=0.510, 95%CI: 0.425-0.613) and injecting drug (OR=6.468, 95%CI: 4.600-9.095).ConclusionsThe rate of HCV infection among DUS showed a downward trend, butit was still high, so there are urgent needs to carry out effective methods to control HCV transmission among DUS.Key words: Drug users; Hepatitis C virus; Influencing factors" @default.
