- W3035804565 abstract "We examined the virus removability of a newly developed filter membrane, regenerated cellulose hollow fibers (BMM) manufactured by means of a microphase separation method. The BMM is proposed for clinical use of ridding infectious viruses from plasmas which are infused into patients, ie. hemophilia, for a treatment. A BMM hollow fiber has approximately 300um inner-diameter and 38um wall-thickness. The removability of BMMU80 (mean pore size 73nm) and BMMU40 (45nm) were examined in this study. For filtration, single modules consisting of a fiber (filtrating area 0.6cm 2 ) and filter units consisting of 500 fibers (300cm 2 ) were prepared. In order to evaluate the removability, colloidal gold solutions of 68, 36 and 22nm and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus (HBV) and Japanses infectious encephalitis virus (JEV) were filtered at the pressure of 200mmHg." @default.
