- W3035960837 abstract "Antimicrobial drugs are necessary in modern poultry production. They are used in therapy as growth promoters and in prophylactic and therapeutical purposes. The subject of our research is monitoring E. coli sensitivity to antibiotics. The aim of the work is to determine antimicrobial activity of some antibiotic groups on our E. coli isolates, to view therapeutical perspective of used antibiotics in future. The material used in this work were the isolates of E. coli from extensive and intensive poultry breeding farms. Different poultry samples were examined (feces, eggs, 1 day old chickens etc.) using standard bacteriological procedures (cultivating, biochemical tests etc.). Sensitivity to antibiotics were determined using disc diffusion method. The following drug groups were examined: aminoglycosides, fluoroquinolones, tetracycline, synthetic penicilline, sulphonamide, lincosamides. The obtained results point that in all antibiotic groups sensitivity decreased in the period of three years. Noticed resistance caused the problem in treatment of animals and indicated the problem in defining the drugs of choice in therapy. This could point on the fact that there is a change in bacterial flora (strains resistant on chemotherapeutical) or cases of mutation on the examined area as well as the administration route and technological possibilities of animal breeding." @default.
