- W3036157076 abstract "As previously applied in the study of the Au-Sn system, a method of preparing thin-film binary metal couples for high-resolution TEM was effective in studying chemical reactions. The two-film method introduced by Shiojiri formed a solidsolid interface through which interdiffusion of the metals can take place and allowed for compositional and structural changes to be observed in the TEM. Figure 1 shows a cross-section schematic of a Pt-Sn couple used in this study. However, if one were to observe this configuration with the electron beam normal to the film surface, the actual reaction interface could not be observed directly. Therefore, the use of epoxy cross-sections of these two-film couples was proposed to allow direct observations of such interfaces." @default.
