- W3036693344 abstract "Korean Wave was present in 1990, containing Korean culture displayed through music and film. Korean Wave has won the hearts of the international community with its unique drama and music story concept. Therefore, the Korean Wave was used as a tool of diplomacy and to spread Soft Power by South Korea with the aim of spreading their culture so that other countries became interested in their country's image and wanted to establish cooperation. One of the countries they succeeded in conquering was Indonesia. When Korean Wave entered Indonesia, Indonesian people became very infatuated with South Korean actresses, actors and singers. The thing that makes them interested in their idols is the good looks and beauty emitted through the skin that is smooth and tight, the style of natural makeup so that, they look young. This interest eventually made Indonesian people want to try the beauty products used by their idols. Using qualitative research and examining two cases of South Korean cosmetics companies and, one case from a South Korean government agency. This study found that, Korean Wave succeeded in influencing the increasing demand and expansion of the South Korean cosmetics industry market in Indonesia. The increase is seen increasing South Korean cosmetics imports in Indonesia by 8, ranking from 15th in 2014-2016 to 7th in 2016-2018. The theoretical framework used in explaining this analysis is Modern Liberalism and Soft Power (Soft Power) Korean Wave hadir pada tahun 1990, berisikan budaya Korea yang ditampilkan melalui musik dan Film. Korean Wave berhasil mengambil hati masyarakat internasional dengan konsep cerita drama serta musiknya yang unik. Oleh karena itu, Korean Wave dijadikan sebagai alat Diplomasi dan menyebarkan Soft Power oleh Korea Selatan dengan tujuan menyebarkan budaya mereka agar negara lain menjadi tertarik dengan citra negara mereka dan mau untuk menjalin kerjasama. Salah satu negara yang berhasil mereka taklukan adalah, Indonesia. Ketika Korean Wave masuk ke dalam Indonesia, masyarakat Indonesia menjadi sangat tergila-gila dengan aktris, aktor serta penyanyi Korea Selatan. Hal yang membuat mereka tertarik dengan idola mereka adalah, ketampanan serta kecantikan yang dipancarkan melalui kulit yang mulus dan kencang, gaya makeup yang natural sehingga, mereka terlihat awet muda. Ketertarikan tersebut pada akhirnya membuat masyarakat Indonesia ingin mencoba produk kecantikan yang gunakan oleh idola mereka. Dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dan mengkaji dua contoh kasus perusahaan kosmetik Korea Selatan serta, satu kasus dari lembaga pemerintah Korea Selatan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa, Korean Wave berhasil mempengaruhi peningkatan permintaan serta perluasan pasar industri kosmetik Korea Selatan di Indonesia. peningkatan tersebut terlihat dari meningkatnya Impor kosmetik Korea Selatan di Indonesia sebanyak, 8 peringkat dari peringkat ke-15 di tahun 2014-2016 menjadi peringkat ke-7 di tahun 2016-2018.
