- W3036931815 abstract "In the age of rapid changes, globalization and science and technical progress, knowledge transforms itself into “the biggest wealth”. There are number of definitions and synonyms of knowledge, but whatever the definition or the name will be, it is a strength, wisdom and faith in personal human abilities. The knowledgeable person may not always be the skilled one but especially the natural ambition for knowledge takes people forward and helps them to follow and achieve their aims. The depth and the quality of the cognition determine our horizons. The higher they are the wider and different is our view of the world, and thus the desire for action and change. Real knowledge is not a natural ability. Every person “reaches” to it, subjecting it to the test of the reality and the practice. The achieved and realized knowledge becomes wisdom which gives the possibility to control the gained information and its placement in scientific discoveries and achievements. Knowledge distinguishes people from one another, makes them more creative, more welfare and better. Successful people believe in themselves – in their own abilities and competence, in the strength of the knowledge.Today contemporary educational institutions are facing up to the necessity and the responsibility to be creators, applied artists, moderators and interpreters of this new knowledge, the knowledge with which “people take their life in their own hands”. Transforming education into a pleasant activity, which extends the horizons of students' ownership and self-expression, it meets young people's expectations and needs, using the variety and the power of the information technologies and electronic educational resources, the education focuses on the achievement of knowledge and competence, providing career progression and realization on the labor market. The teacher becomes a key figure in the process of education, enhancing his or her functions. He/She is a consultant, a partner, an expert, a mediator, a moderator, an educator... His/Her professional-pedagogical competences and personal qualities get the students carried away, motivate and leave them to the way of education. Looking for the most optimal and adequate solutions for efficient educational process in the Department of Languages and Specialized Training of MU – Plovdiv, there are different strategies for foreign students' language education, who specialize medicine in English, there are also different models of learning, new and current student's books are being created. Headline target is not only the achievement of better communicative ability and competence (which would mean acquiring the knowledge of both structural and sociolinguistic aspects of the language) it is also concerned about the achievement of practically oriented communication (considering the foreign students' necessity of adaptation in the new language area and their need of clinical communication after the third year). Certainly whatever the ways, the methods, the educational tools are or being chosen, whatever roles the teacher plays, all of them (if we have to paraphrase Volter) are keys to the same door – the door of the knowledge." @default.
