- W3038438500 abstract "Food safety has always been the focus of the community, and since a variety of food safety issues occurred frequently these years, it has become a sensitive topic of people's concern. Therefore, it is important and necessary to develop scientific and advanced technology for food safety inspection to guarantee public health and prevent foodborne diseases. At present, a large proportion of food contamination is due to microbial pollution, which has highlighted the essentiality of microorganism detection in food. There are many kinds of microorganisms in food, some can cause diseases, and some can produce metabolites that cannot be ignored, so microorganisms in food, especially some pathogenic microorganisms are often used as an important indicator of food safety. In order to reduce the probability of microbial contamination, the detection technology has been widely used and improved during these years. The classic method for detecting the foodborne microorganisms are mainly based on conventional culture, which is time consuming and labor-cost. Recently, various approaches have been established and developed, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and biosensors-based methods. In addition, other new approaches are emerging to improve the result of detection. In this article, we focus on common types of foodborne pathogenic microorganisms and major rapid, sensitive, and easy-performing approaches applied for detection to prevent foodborne diseases." @default.
