Conclusion. ABSTRACT Aim. The aim of the study was to analyze the radio-clinical results of the surgical management of recent pediatric supracondylar fractures of the humerus in a specialized unit of Libreville (Gabon). Patients and methods. This was a retrospective cross sectional study covrering the periode from January 2016 to January 2018 in trauma and orthopedics department of Owendo University Teaching Hospital. The study included records of children admitted for recent supracondylar fracture of humerus treated surgically in the service. The data were collected from medical records and analyzed with Excel Sorfware Microsoft Version 2010. Results: We collected 33 cases including 23 boys and 10 girls, their average age was 8,5±4,9 years (Extremes ranging: 2 – 15 years). There was a male predominance in 69,7% (n=23) with a sex ratio of 2,30 in favor of boys. Type IV fractures were the most frequent with 84,9% (n=28). The majority received percutaneous plug-in surgical treatment using the Judet technique. At the last follow-up (six months), according to the criteria of Marion and Lagrange, the best percentage of perfect results was 78,8% (n=26), that of good results was 15,2% (n=5) and that of bad results was 6% (n=2). Conclusion: surgical treatment by percutaneous plugging according to Judet is a reliable method which allows to obtain a sure stabilization of the fracture site. The results obtained were satisfactory in 94% (n=31) of cases." @default.
