- W3040785836 abstract "Nanotechnology is an emerging field with numerous applications, ranging from antifungals to optoelectronics. Owing to the many glaring merits of nanotechnology, such as ecofriendliness, green synthesis, solvent-free, nontoxic, superior size, and shape, the trend of using plant extracts to synthesis nanoparticles (NPs) is soaring. NPs with dimension of as small as 10 nm have been synthesized using various parts of plants, indicating the success of producing smaller particles to successfully feed the needs of the fields of the day. Factors such as temperature, reaction time, solution pH, and the extract concentration have been found to have vital roles in determining the dimension of the NPs produced. By altering these factors, the desired dimension of NPs can be achieved. The choices of metal type and quantity are the challenging aspects in plant-derived NPs. It is worth noting that while all the benefits have been well documented for bioroute NPs, the negative part of the production needs to be given equal attention too. This means that the smaller the particles are in size, the greater the consequences, be they beneficial or damaging. There are a few reported NPs that gain toxicity effects as the size of the particles is reduced. Among the aspects to be focused on are the uncontrolled exploitation on plants, the synthesis route, waste generation from the process, and the yield in the biomediated route. Continuous research on NPs, such as silver, gold, zinc, iron, platinum, palladium, and titanium, is needed to explore their advantages in a spectrum of applications." @default.
