- W3042159970 abstract "Anaphora is a stylistic figure, which is described in detail in the old rhetorical treatises. In ancient rhetoric, anaphor is defined as a figure of speech, that is, a figure that does not change the meaning of the phrase, unlike the figures of thought that change the meaning of the phrase in which they are. There is another distinction, described in detail and explored in the old rhetorical treatises - between tropes and figures. The tropes evoke the indirect meaning of the words, while the figures express a relation between two or more sympathetic words. An anaphor is a figure that consists in repeating a word or words at the beginning of more poems, sentences or articles of sentences. The effect of anaphor is associated with the insistence as well as the expressiveness of speech, to which particular attention is paid in ancient rhetoric. In connection with the new look at rhetoric, contemporary stylistics also places a spot on traditional tropes and figures, and their relevance to style. The anaphor as a stylistic figure bears a certain effect through which the desired response of the reader is achieved. The subject of the article is the stylistic figure of the anaphor in its concrete realizations in the fiction of Dimitar Dimov and the stylistic effects achieved through it. Dimitar Dimov's novels have been chosen as the object, because they are relatively common in anaphora." @default.
