- W3044016056 abstract "This chapter aims to show how engagement with the policy transfer/translation literature and its emphasis on the processes through which enterprise policy ideas travel across different countries/regions and at different points in time, might support the understanding of context issues in enterprise policy making. It makes the argument that countries/regions, through their efforts to emulate or learn from policy innovations elsewhere, oftentimes develop policies with outcomes which were not originally conceived. The chapter highlights the ongoing nature of the policy-making process, the different interpretations of those who drive policy and the varied translations of policies as they try to fit various contexts and speak to various different audiences.
