- W3044653522 abstract "The electron scattering cross sections from the enriched $^{148}mathrm{Sm}$ (96.5%) and $^{152}mathrm{Sm}$ (99.2%) isotopes have been measured between 5 and 33 MeV excitation energies for incident energies in the range of between 150 and 215 MeV and scattering angles of 30ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}, 35ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}, and 40ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}. The giant resonances at ${E}_{x}=14.8 (78{A}^{ensuremath{-}frac{1}{3}}), 11.6 (61{A}^{ensuremath{-}frac{1}{3}}), 15.5 (82{A}^{ensuremath{-}frac{1}{3}}), mathrm{and} 24 (129{A}^{ensuremath{-}frac{1}{3}})$ MeV for $^{148}mathrm{Sm}$ were classified according to their momentum transfer dependence. The $K$ splittings of the giant $E1(T=1)$ and $E2(T=0,1)$ resonances for deformed $^{152}mathrm{Sm}$ were observed in agreement with a vibrating potential model. The splittings between the $K={0}^{+} mathrm{and} {2}^{+}$ components for the isoscalar and isovector quadrupole resonances are ensuremath{sim}2 MeV and ensuremath{sim}5 MeV, respectively. The fitted parameters classified as the giant monopole resonance are the same for spherical $^{148}mathrm{Sm}$ and for deformed $^{152}mathrm{Sm}$. The difference between the isoscalar giant resonance parameters for resonance energies and width found from hadron scattering and those for electron scattering is discussed for the rare-earth region.NUCLEAR REACTIONS $^{148,152}mathrm{Sm}$($e$,${e}^{ensuremath{'}}$), enriched targets, ${E}_{0}=150 mathrm{to} 215$ MeV, $ensuremath{theta}=30ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}, 35ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}, 40ifmmode^circelsetextdegreefi{}$, $q=0.38ensuremath{-}0.64$ ${mathrm{fm}}^{ensuremath{-}1}$. Measured $frac{{d}^{2}ensuremath{sigma}}{densuremath{Omega}d{E}_{x}}$ up to 33 MeV in excitation energy; deduced multipolarity, excitation energy, width, sum rule exhaustion of giant resonances." @default.
