- W3048007372 abstract "Plant pathogens and pest are one of the major destroyers of plants that affect the crop productivity. To control phytopathogens, various types of chemical is being used, which severely affects the environment. Agricultural beneficial fungi can be used as the biopesticides that can minimize the pesticides exercise and also help in reducing the attack of phytopathogens on plants. There are different kinds of mechanism used by fungi to restrict the pest and phytopathogens growth like siderophore production that limits the iron in soil that is not available for pathogens. Another mechanism is production of HCN, hydrolytic enzymes, antibiotics by fungi to control the several phytopathogens. This chapter discussed about the current research and future prospect of fungi that are agriculturally important and act as a biocontrol agent." @default.
