- W3048197859 abstract "In the wide-plate steel-concrete composite decks, concrete slab and the flange of steel box girder will have obvious warping deformation under the influence of steel beam webs. This mechanical behavior is called the shear lag effect and is usually obtained by utilizing the effective width. Therefore, a simplified calculation method based on effective width is proposed to analyze the shear lag effect of composite bridge decks, which would greatly improve the process of the design analysis in the general beam element model. In this study, the static load test of composite twin I-girder deck and box-girder deck specimens is carried out. In the experiment, two specimens were subjected to vertical bending load and axial compression load. In addition, a finite element model is established to analyze the shear lag effect of composite sections. Through the analysis of the fine element model of the composite deck under vertical bending load and axial compression load, the longitudinal distribution characteristics of the effective width are obtained. Moreover, the effective width prediction formulae are proposed. Finally, based on the general beam element model, considering gravity load, traffic load envelope and prestressing load, the simplified analysis method of composite decks for the design process is performed by comparative analysis." @default.
