- W3048739615 abstract "This study critically investigates the gap acceptance behavior of right-turning vehicles as maneuvering vehicles interacting with opposing through vehicles in the major traffic streams at urban signalized intersections with permitted right-turn and heterogeneous, nonlane-based traffic operations. In addition to gap size, the vehicle classes in both the minor and major streams were observed to be a key factor influencing the gap acceptance behavior. The gap acceptance behavior is modeled considering these key parameters using binary logistic regression. A methodology for calibration of traffic microsimulation models with a primary focus on realistic representation of vehicular interaction at conflict zones in signalized urban intersections is also proposed in this paper. Several representative urban signalized intersections with permitted right turn in Kolkata, India were selected to study the gap acceptance behavior and demonstrate the successful application of the calibration methodology." @default.
