To assess the pre-test and post- test effects of postural drainage on expectoration of mucus from airways in patients suffering with Lower Respiratory tract diseases.2. To evaluate effectiveness of postural drainage on expectoration of sputum from airways in Lower Respiratory tract diseased patients.3. To find out association between postural drainage on expectoration of mucus from airway among Lower Respiratory tract diseased patient with selected demographical variables.MAJOR FINDINGS OF THE STUDY:❖ The data presented in the above table shows, the number of sample was 20 (33.34%) in the age group of 15-30 years, 15 (25%) in the age group of 31-45 years, 25 (41.66%) in the age group of 45-55 years.❖ Most of cases studied are males who account to 66.6% of total cases. This has lot of significance as most of men are smokers and alcoholics who are more prone for lower respiratory tract infections/ diseases.❖ Most of cases studied are illiterates who accounts to 50% of total case load where secondary level of education has been observed in 41.6% which indicates an association that lower respiratory tract infections/ diseases are more common among such groups. The graduates in the study were only 8.4%.❖ In case of income groups also, most of the samples fell under less than Rs. 3000/- which is about 50% and 33.33% are between Rs.3000-5000/- income group. Only 16.67% samples fell under high income group.❖ The mean value of the parameters in lower respiratory tract diseased patients sputum collection scores in pre-test 1.870, post test 4.580, PEFR pre-test 2.017, PEFR Post test 4.467.❖ The investigator found that, there was a significant improvement in the mean difference scores between the pre and post test parameter- sputum collection. The‘t ’value was 31.59, highly significant at p<0.001 level.❖ Improvement in the mean difference scores between the pre and post test parameter-Peak expiratory flow rate. The ‘t’ value in PEFR is 31.82 Highly significant at p<0.001 level." @default.
