Given the above, this article is developed with the objective of knowing the clinical characterization and prevalence of patients with congestion syndrome and pelvic pain in various countries of the world.A narrative bibliographic review was carried out with an observational and retrospective research design, of a descriptive type with a mixed approach, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations, selecting 50 documents related to the clinical characterization and prevalence of patients with congestion syndrome and pelvic pain. in different countries of the world.As a result of the study, it was found that pelvic congestion syndrome and pelvic pain frequently occur in multiparous women of reproductive age, overweight women and adolescents with disorders related to the menstrual cycle. Clinically, it is characterized by dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, dyspareunia, abdominal pain, pelvic and low lumbar pain, and occasionally presents symptoms that compromise the lower urinary tract. Symptoms can get worse when standing or having sex. Women with pelvic pain may suffer from depression, chronic fatigue, sexual dysfunction.The literature reviewed showed different values of prevalence in patients with pelvic congestion syndrome and pelvic pain. In Mexico, Chile and some regions of Colombia, studies with a prevalence of more than 60% were found, in countries such as the United States, Australia, Egypt, Ecuador, and some regions of Colombia, studies were found with a prevalence of 20% to 40%. %, while in countries such as Austria, Mexico, Brazil, Ghana, Chile, Spain and some regions of Colombia, studies with a prevalence of less than 20% were found." @default.
