- W3080851211 abstract "Abstract Developing the catalytic activity of artificial nanoenzymes is an important task and metal doping is can be considered as one of effective approaches. In this work, Ce-doped ZnCo2O4 nanospheres (Ce/ZnCo2O4) are successfully prepared using a simple one-step solvothermal method and characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS), etc. Compared with pure ZnCo2O4, Ce/ZnCo2O4 has a higher peroxidase-like activity together with a weak oxidase-like activity. Mainly, Ce/ZnCo2O4 peroxidase-like activity is investigated via a fast chromogenic reaction, i.e., the catalytic oxidation of colorless chromogenic substrate (TMB) into a blue product (oxTMB) by H2O2 only in 3 min. The peroxidase-like behaviors of Ce/ZnCo2O4 are consistent with the Michaelis--Menten equation. Furthermore, the catalytic mechanism of Ce/ZnCo2O4 is verified to be from the electron transfer between substrates and Ce/ZnCo2O4 with oxygen vacancies as well as the active species (superoxide radical) produced during the catalytic reaction. Based on the excellent double nanoenzyme-like activity of Ce/ZnCo2O4, a fast colorimetric sensing platform has been constructed for determination of H2O2 (linear range: 200–1000 μM, LOD = 175 μM) and glutathione (linear range: 2−15 μM, LOD = 1.39 μM). The practicability of this developed colorimetric sensing platform based on Ce/ZnCo2O4 is validated by recognition of reduced glutathione in real samples." @default.
