- W3083894237 abstract "In this research some of physical and mechanical properties of lintel seeds were determined as a function of moisture content. The results showed that moisture content has significant effect on the physical properties of lintel seeds such as length, arithmetic mean diameter, projected area, thousand seed mass, angle of repose, width, thickness, volume, geometric mean diameter and bulk density (p< 0.01), and has no effect on the porosity, true density and sphericity. As moisture content was increased from 6.93 to 11.5% (dry basis) length, width, thickness, geometric mean diameter, projected area, volume, thousand seed mass, angle of repose and porosity increased, while bulk density decreased. The interaction effect of moisture content × surface type has significant effect (p< 0.01), on static coefficient of friction. Also, the results showed that grain moisture content have a significant effect (p< 0.01) on nearly all mechanical properties. By increasing moisture content deformation at rupture point increased from 0.269 to 0.591 . while force required to rupture, energy required to rupture and toughness were decreased from 335.4 to 247.01 , 75.719 to 21.901 mJ and 1.508 to 0.553 . By increasing the loading velocity, the deformation at rupture point, force required to rupture, energy required to rupture and toughness were decreased. By increasing the seed size, the deformation at rupture point, force required to rupture, energy required to rupture and toughness were increased. The triple interaction effect of loading velocity × seed size × moisture content was not significant on mechanical properties of lintel seeds." @default.
