- W3084794562 abstract "Abstract The study set out to determine changes in both the quantitative and qualitative composition of ellagitannins (ETs) in the roots, leaves, and fruits of six strawberry cultivars at the main stages of vegetative and generative plant development. Variability in the content of fragariin A was established for the first time. PCA and multivariate ANOVA revealed substantial variation in ET concentrations in strawberry roots, leaves, and fruits depending on the cultivar tested and plant growth stage. The average total ET content in the leaves, roots, and ripe fruits was 82, 8, and 9 mg/g dry weight, respectively, which indicates that ET biosynthesis and accumulation are the most effective in the leaves. A scheme was proposed to illustrate the pattern of transformations of the identified ETs, starting from pedunculagin as a substrate for monomers as well as for the condensation reaction in the three morphological parts of the plant." @default.
